EPD® and FSC®: environmental sustainability, a choice for the future.

 

CBI Europe contributes in an increasingly significant way to the conscious development of the construction world with the acquisition of two new fundamental certificates: EPD® (Environmental Product Declaration) certification for all metal ceiling systems (panels, staves and grids) and FSC® / Chain of Custody (CoC) certification for all CBI Europe products that use wood and wood derivatives: raised technical floors, false ceilings and wall coverings of the Wood systems, the Wall System and Genesy mobile wall systems.

 

 

The EPD assessment - already confirmed in 2020 for all CBI Europe wood chip and calcium sulphate floors - is based on the international ISO standards of LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) and is verified by independent bodies. It allows to know, evaluate and compare the environmental impact of every production aspect: from the acquisition of raw materials and intermediate components, to the production processes, up to the use and end of life of the product.

 

FSC® is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental international organisation, founded in 1993 to promote the correct and responsible management of forests and plantations according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. 

FSC® Chain of Custody certification provides a credible confirmation for the market access of products with environmentally and socially responsible sources.

It ensures that FSC®-certified material has been identified and separated from non-certified and uncontrolled material throughout its journey from forest to processing to market.
